McAuley

Associate Consultant

Dan has been with Performance First since 2003 and continues to relish the challenge of developing human performance at work.  He specializes in understanding and leveraging the human factor in international High Reliability Organisations.

In the consultancy role, he has been responsible for designing and delivering innovative and bespoke development initiatives for individuals and teams across a range of industries including the aviation, oil, financial, motorsport, chemicals, technology, nuclear and entertainment sectors.

Dan has recent operational experience as an Asia-based business jet executive and is well-versed in the rigours of operating in a government-approved role in a highly-regulated organisation experiencing rapid international growth.

Before consulting, Dan enjoyed a successful career in the Royal Air Force and became an experienced helicopter pilot with broad leadership, teaching, training and examination responsibilities under the most strenuous of conflict conditions.  He enjoyed teaching pilots over many years, is licensed by the UK Civil Aviation Authority and has been a regulator-approved instructor/facilitator since 1995.

Throughout his time developing people, helping leaders, managers and operators to see a different perspective and use new skills and styles has been key to unlocking more of the potential which goes untapped in under-performing organisations and people.

Some of Dan’s current and previous clients include: UK and international military and civilian aviation organisations, the UK nuclear fuel and power industries, Hongkong Jet, the European Space Agency, NetJets Europe, Deutsche Bank, Metrojet & Heliservices Hong Kong, Shell, Virgin Holidays, Sheffield Cathedral, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Unilever, Indian Air Force, British Airways, and Reuters.

Dan is married with 2 adult children.  Away from work he enjoys travel, learning, cooking and watching his young adult children achieve great results.
